Last Day of Work

Today was my last day at work and it was bittersweet. This is by far the best office I've ever worked at and the best group of people I've ever worked with. I'm really going to miss everyone there. I really have to say thank you to Dr. Edge (4th from the left) for being so supportive. This is a picture of all of us, minus Karla, at my goodbye lunch at Henry's the day before (I'm 3rd from the left). It's a great french/cajun restaurant in Acworth. It was tough leaving today but tough in a good way. I would really like to come back after the peace corps and work with them again if I can. We'll see. Anyway, thanks Andrea, Jill "Jillian Jackson", Candice "Canned Ice", Tiffany, Jenifer, Jean, Karen (with her son Caden), Brandee, Dr. Edge, Joyce, and last but certainly not least Angel....and you too Karla!

Hi Shaun,

Thanks for the note. It's been great to find out more about our soon-to-be classmates. I have to admit, when I read your blog I thought, "Wow, we're going to be in some pretty good company!"

I think it's amazing how diverse we all will be, yet still hold the same job title. My wife, Jess, has an MPH focused in Community Health and Social Behavior and would love to snag a post dealing with Maternal and Child Health. I, on the other hand, come out of the hunger/nutrition world and would love to be involved in a food distribution project. No matter what comes our way it's going to be a fantastic 2 years.

Feel free to drop us an email and we'll compare packing lists: matthew.lyttle@gmail.com

Our Spanish is mediocre at best. I find it difficult to pick it up when you are only speaking/listening/reading a half hour today. I'm really looking forward to the immersion, as I'm sure the learning curve will be steep!

Alright, have a good one and enjoy your last kicks of winter!

Hey Shaun!

Alli Engle told me you are also in our group for Nica. Looks like you have great experience so I'm looking foward to learning a thing or two:-)

I'm getting nervous about packing mostly because I am a light packer which means I usually forget something necessary haha. How is everything going now that you aren't working anymore? I have heard so many amazing things about Nicaragua, I can't wait to get there. It'll be awesome to meet everyone on the 7th!

Talk to you soon,
Megan

oh my goodness! I love the accomadations! Man those pictures really helped me get a better understanding of what you're going through. I bet you feel like your on a totally different planet....by the way how much use can your mosquito net do if you have it wide open during the day. Don't you think you should be shutting that thing so those malaria carriing beast of mosquitos stay completely away from your bed at all times???? How about pour poison all the way around you bed just to be extra safe?
Plesae post some pictures of your family, I would love to see them... let me know if there is anything you need, I would be happy to send.
We miss you!
Love,
Kristi
